HOUSE RULES
How to play
Three rounds, three claims each. Every round has one FACT., one KINDA?, and one NOPE! Assign each verdict once. You have 60 seconds.
FACT. The claim is accurate as written and understandable without a material missing caveat.
KINDA? The claim has a factual basis, but an important caveat, ambiguity, missing context, or misleading framing changes how it should be interpreted.
NOPE! The claim’s central assertion is false, fabricated, or contradicted by reliable evidence.
Scoring
You can earn up to 10 points per game: 9 points from classifying claims and 1 bonus point for saving all three wildcards (explained below).
Each claim is worth up to 1 point:
- If you choose the correct category, you earn 1 point.
- If you confuse FACT. with KINDA?, you earn 0.5 points.
- If you confuse KINDA? with NOPE!, you earn 0.33 points.
- If you confuse FACT. with NOPE!, you earn 0 points.
Wildcards
You have three unique wildcards for the entire game. Each can be used once, across any of the three rounds.
Every wildcard you use forfeits its 0.33-point bonus. Save all three to earn the full 1-point bonus!
One Off — Reveal a verdict
Reveal the correct verdict for one claim of your choice. That claim is automatically assigned the correct verdict and earns 1 point.
Swap — Try a different claim
Replace one claim with a new one from the same hidden category.
For example, if you suspect a claim is FACT. but aren’t sure, Swap gives you another FACT. claim to evaluate. The replacement might be easier to identify... or not!
The new claim comes with its own explanation and source, but its verdict stays hidden, so you’ll still need to classify it yourself.
Lifesaver — Protect your score
Choose one claim to protect before submitting your answers.
If your verdict is correct, the claim earns its normal 1 point. But if your verdict is wrong, the protected claim and its counterpart are treated as correctly classified for scoring, earning 1 point each.
